everything will be alright

dear mom,

remember the time we went to the mall and when we were leaving we walked out the wrong door and thought the truck was stolen? and dad drove out to pick us up and didn't say anything as he drove us straight to the truck because he saw it on the way in. and we tried to justify it with the oil spots...

remember when we went to california with lindsay and we sang our hearts out to "give me one reason" because we were stuck in traffic? and lins and i were terrified because you would speed up when other people would brake. and then we saw that man who was at least 30 pick his nose and eat his boogers (disgusting).

remember after dad was in his accident you had to give him shots but we didn't know it was a retracting needle and after you did the first one you asked where the needle went? the look on dad's face was priceless.

i know things are really crazy right now and you feel like the world is on your shoulders. i don't blame you, i just don't want you to forget the good stuff. remember D&C 121:7-10, "my son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment. and then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes. thy friends do stand by thee, and they shall hail thee again with warm hearts and friendly hands." i love you mom. keep on keeping on ;)

love always,
cass

This was really neat Cassie! Your mom wasn't the only one that needed to read this! Thanks

Cassie I laughed at every one of those stories. :) I could completely visualize every one of them.
And once again, I hope that my little family can be as close and tight-knit as your family is. I love how close you all are and how you can be friends with your parents like you are. Love you!

You made me cry. This was perfect Cass. Mom is unbelievably loving and a wonderful person inside and out no matter what flaws she thinks she has. We're here for you Mom!! XOXO

Dear Cass

Can't tell you how much this did my heart good! I laughed at some of these too, especially the walking out the wrong door at the mall since that was literally the first time that has ever happened to me (you know me and always orienting myself to places). Thank you so much for your love and for caring and for making me feel better. I don't think I can take you not living in the house with me anymore . . . maybe you could move close like Lindsay did. I didn't think I'd survive her leaving either.

Love you,

Mom

I laughed my head off about the losing the car and your dad coming to pick you up! One because I can only imagine you and your moms conversation and two because rob would not have been near as nice as your dad was. he would have been ticked! Your family is the best! I need more humor in my life like this! Sounds like your mom needed to hear all of this too! I hope things get better jamie whatever you are dealing with! I love you guys!

That's so sweet! What a great post, Cassie! In one of the past conference talks, there's a part about mothers and daughters. Isn't it great to have a relationship with your mom like the ones that are described by prophets? It's so important to build each other up. There's no one in this world who can love you quite like your own mother.
